The Study On The Dunhuang Medical Documents

Dunhuangology was named after geographical name,which determines the subject's nature of Dunhuangology——an all-inclusive interdiscipline.So it requires scholars to have stereovision when doing research in Dunhuang documents,and they should carry out exploration from different angles of subjects.Because of Dunhuangology's complexity in content,it becomes particularly important that scolars from majors cooperate full with each other.Most Dunhuang documents have been studied to a great extent since Dunhuang treasure were found a hundred years ago.Dunhuang medical documents have not got to the phase of comprehensive and systematic research until it was nineteen-eighties.The research on Dunhuang medical documents has made remarkable achievements during tens of years.However,Dunhuang medical documents have not received enough attention from nonmedical scolars.In view of this,we investigate and study Dunhuang medical documents again from the perspective of Chinese philology,applying the methods of “four collation methods”“interpreting by structure”“interpreting by use environment”,and try hard to redeem inadequacies in the previous works and explore the academic value of Dunhuang medical documents adequately.This paper comprises five chapters.Chapter three and four are the main body of the paper.Chapter one is an exordium.It introduces the object of study,the research state,the research contents and methods.Chapter two is philological research on the Dunhuang medical documents.This paper does the research on its philological characteristic from four aspects: text feature,term feature,time of transcription and join of relics,corrects and improves many mistakes and shortcomings on the subject in previous research.Chapter three focus on the emendation of Dunhuang medical documents.The first section corrects emendation mistakes in collation results of scholars and the other section makes complement emendation to omission of previous research.Chapter four emphasizes the interpretation of knotty Chinese characters in Dunhuang medical documents that have puzzled scholars for long time.This paper firstly conduct focusing on research on problematic informal Chinese characters in Dunhuang medical documents on a large scale.We use Dunhuang medical documents as research subjects,and in the study the theory and method has been used and proved.Chapter five discusses the value from three aspects:Chinese language philology,compilation of large-scale dictionary and collation of ancient books of traditional Chinese medicine.
