Embeded Web Server Based On EPA

The Ethernet is more and more used in the industrial environments. As an important part of this technology, the Web technology has great potential for practical applications. To build a Web Server in the Embedded Systems can make full use of existing technologies, and provide a browser-based remote services in the Embedded Systems.In contemporary enterprises, The Embedded Web Server (EWS) is not just build for simple Web browsing functions. It must provide remote dynaic data services with the field testing and controlling equipments. The EWS mentioned in this paper is build with the EPA system, to provide dynamic data query services and some other applications. After analysis of EPA standards, a way to query EPA informations through Web is given in this paper. It can not only be used in the EPA systems, it can be used in the interconnection of Fieldbus or other I/O devices and Web Server as well.In addition, Due to the resource limitations, most of the Embedded Systems can not provide convenient tools to develop Web applications like JSP, PHP, ASP. How to provide a rapid way to develop Web applications in the EWS is still in the research and exploration. Combined with CGI & SSI technologies, a server side include lightweight script engine XSP was carried out in this paper. The EPA information visit function was also provided in XSP. It's carried out a convenient scheme to develop Web applications for the EWS.Next, this paper introduced the transplanting & developing of the Arm Linux. On this basis, transplanted a thttpd server. Finally, the direction of the further studies was discussed.
