Ultra-low-end phones by early 2005 the GSM Association jointly Motorola, Nokia, and other enterprises to the concept so far, the cell phone industry, has become a huge industry. At that time, GSM Association is expected, low-cost handsets for emerging markets is essential, "the next 1 billion customers in more than 82 percent will come from emerging economies"In this paper, Infineon's ultra-low-end mobile platform, a detailed study of the ULC2 ultra-low-end mobile phone platform chip design. Design includes: 8 x8mm single-chip solution, integrated GSM baseband, RF transceiver, power management unit, RAM in one, single-sided cloth panels to form an extremely low cost, support for color, and so on. ULC2 and against the ultra-low-end single-chip phone chips to achieve the various modules and functions of analysis, including GSM system, power management unit, various bus, on-chip clock, the realization of interruption, and so on.This paper from the ultra-low-end mobile phone platform for a series of phone baseband chip start, independent of the original, together with the power management module integrated into the entire chip design in the past. The original two chips integrated into a single chip, thereby further reducing the cost and achieve a single-chip solution. Detailed study of how this ultra-low-end mobile phone platform into MODEM, to meet the multimedia processing of lower-priced chip smart phones, are given a detailed platform of ultra-low-end phones steps and ways to cope with multimedia processor, Integration into the domestic market today in the popular low-cost smart phones.
