With the developments of Computer Graphics and Virtual Reality, virtual interactive has been used more and more widely in every walk of life. Forestry visualization is always a hotpot in the study of visualization. As the diverse geographical features and complex terrain environment in forest scene, as well as the complexity structure of the trees, it makes a higher demand in system design of the real-time virtual forest interactive.Based on the study in this problem, a software-based design method is presented in this paper, which uses 3D modeling software 3ds max for 3D visual simulation and uses interactive virtual platform software Virtools for scenes-driving. Drawing out the software's function maximally by using some operation skills can resolve the contradiction between reality and real-time interactive. To control the polygon number in a small order of magnitude and optimize the texture map, and lay the objects in LOD can reduce the scene complexity. This paper gives a whole illustrate in system's structure and the technical implementation process, and details in the modeling technology, interactive graphic design and optimization technology. This method has been proved valid in the application of JiuFeng Forest Park virtual interactive system.
