Virtual reality is an immersed interactive environment based on the calculable information. It is the most important feature in the Virtual reality system that participant can use an interactive communication spontaneously between the nature technology and apperception of human beings and the virtual environment made by the computer. Therefore, it is required that system must give the real-time responses for the varied inputs.Incorporated with the tenth-five project: Distributed Integrated Experiment & Measurement Visual System, from the Commission Of Science Technology And Industry For National Defense, and the tenth-five project of air force: Intelligent Cabin Display Controlling Method and Flight Data Recording Technology. This paper make research about focus problem: real-time in the virtual reality system.In the paper, we introduce the researching status of real-time technology in virtual reality system, and analyze the main problem of the real-time in virtual reality. That include: how to establish and show the scene in real-time, the distributing virtual reality system scene compression, real-time transmitting and displaying and so on. And we also give the solving method for each problem. It is the main research matter of this paper.That establish the real and vivid virtual environment is the core problem of the virtual reality technology. It is very important to make research on developing the virtual environment and showing , and syncretism the arithmetic based on the research result into the varied virtual and emulation environments, for achieving more real and field feeling. In the paper, we mainly introduced the protract technology based on image arithmetic, and study the method of connecting the image sequence for producing a panorama image in real-time, we also give an arithmetic about connection preprocess arithmetic which can accelerate the speed of scene establishing.For establishing various view-scene fleetly, we commonly adopt the polygon mesh method to establish scene descriptions, but the complexity of the 3-D model which is established by polygon mesh method exceed the processing ability of modern computer. Those reduce the complexity of these models and the number of polygons which is needed to process by the graphic system, and make a real-time interactive communication. These problems have become very important tasks in computer graphics research. For these questions, people present the multi-resolution model conception. In this paper, we will give a fast real-time simplification side-fold mesharithmetic, and also we have gained a good test result.In the application of the virtual environment network, telnet servers often need to transmit its scene data to client server. The compression of virtual environment data is the effective way to achieve transmitting in real-time and showing of the virtual scene under the network environment. VRML is the main file format in the 3-D models transmitting on the Internet. So, we propose a binary code technology which based on the VRML files compression, it predigests the file structure, reduces the file size, and we also approved this way is better for the network transmitting.
