The Exploitation And Utilization Of Resources Of Local Museum For Art Education

In this thesis, the author tries to manipulate the rich art resource of local museums which serves for the art education of its local students. In doing so, the art teaching aims to make the students fully realize the diversity and richness of the culture of China. With regard to the teaching approaches, it is advisable to establish a set of practical art education through both in-school and out-school education. In this way can we make up for the inadequacy of art education resource. As we know local museums is a good place for teaching the students on the spot in that they accommodate both the teachers and students with good sites to appreciate the artistic works conveniently. Apart from that, the study of local museums, as classic part of local culture, is a good way to carry out and inherit our national culture.There are six chapters in this thesis. The preliminary section dwells on the local resources for art education, which can make up for the inadequacies of national-wide art curriculum to meet the requirement of local students'art education. Meanwhile, local museums make the local students have access to understanding the diversity of arts and also accommodate them with better life experience with a view to helping them build up self-confidence. In the fourth chapter, there are specific approaches to the study of local museums as well as the ways of combining the on-the- spot education in local museums with that in their own school.The author finds it difficult to obtain the relevant literature about school education-oriented museums, although there is a little abroad. Provided that there are limited resources at present both abroad and domestic, it is necessary that more relevant researches should be fulfilled to integrate the local museums with local education. The research I carry out is just a preliminary one for further survey of the role of local museums in local education.
