This paper is based on the project named "Quality Inspection Management System for Construction Material". The project is developed by 'Database and Intelligent-web Laboratory of Colleague of Computer Science and Technology of Jilin University', 'Construction Quality Supervision and Inspection Center of Qiqihar' and 'Changchun materials test machine Ltd.'. This paper is focues on "Information System for Construction Materials" which ueses Eclipse RCP as its framework and is implemented by eclipse plug-in. The system implements and perfects quanlity management of construction material and includes three parts which are 'Information System for Construction Materials', 'Quality Inspection System' and 'Web Monitoring System'.This paper start from the demand for system analysis and has experienced the entire process of software development. All of the steps are design, detail design, implmentation, testing and deployment. This paper also describes eclipse plug-in and RCP technology, and the using of these technology in the system in detail.Construction industry is a pillar industry in our country. It penetrate into other fields and makes the foundatoin for other fields'existence and development. So, monitoring the quality of construction materials is a major bearing on people's livelihood.Monitoring the quality of construction materials is using instruments and equipment to test the quanlity of building materials, and judge the quanlity of building materials up to state's standard or not. Construction materials includes sand, stone, cement, concrete, bricks, and so on. Instruments and equipment include ruler, thermometers, pressure testing machine, micro-deformation measurement instrument, and so on. Management steps include: receive samples, testing, checking, verification, authorization, report printing, report releasing.The part of demand for system analysis describes the background and functions of "Quality Inspection Management System for Construction Material". And, describes user's functional requirement and system's precept of requirement later. The part of system design gives a picture of system functions and a picture of system use case, at first, which unfold the functional framework of the system. Later, describes functional model of system in four hiberarchy in detail. The part of implemention, testing and deployment of system describes the technology which is used to implement the system and the environment in which the system run, and so on.There are three child system in "Quality Inspection Management System for Construction Material", and they are 'Information System for Construction Materials', 'Quality Inspection System' and 'Web Monitoring System'. These three complementary parts compose a Quanlity Monitoring System which is information-based and network-based.'Information System for Construction Materials' based on Eclipse RCP framework and developed by Eclipse plug-in. It has very good flexibility and maintainability. RCP's full name is Rich Client Platform, we can see it as the framework of Eclipse, and other plug-in as organs and flesh and blood. In fact, we can fill organs and flesh and blood of ourselves into the Eclipse's framework, in this way, we make a system named ours'Eclipse'.To develop Java desktop use RCP can transfer your developing focus to the logic funcitons rather than interface of the system. The system of ourselves could inherit the style and function of Eclipse, and we could not develop interface items of ourselves such as menu, tool bar, child window, and so on. Even, we could plug Eclipse's function-plug-in in our system. For example,'Console'which is a import part of Eclipse. In this way, we avoid a lot of duplicated development. Of course, we can design style of interface elements in ourselves way completely. The biggest advantages of plug-in architecture is it can build a stable structure. All communications and extensions are implemented by plug-in, and all plug-ins are self-existent, it is loosely coupled that we said, each plug-in terms is a black box to the external.'Quality Inspection System' child system use C/S frameworkand is developed by Visual C++ 6.0, it can communicate with large-scale testing machine very well and transmit test data. This child system read data from experimental machine, and draw real-time rendering curve. It saves data to database which is developed by SQL Server 2000. The curve could be saved as picture in general format, such as'jpeg'. User can modify that picture by hand. When this child system read data from testing machine , it using the library functions which are encapsulated in DLL.This subject implements Quality Inspection Management System for Construction Material, and compensates for the existing system in norms of testing procedures, life cycle and update of information system.
