Digital watermarking technology plays a critical role in the field of Multimedia security, and hasbeen widely used in copyright protection, content authementication, copy contol and some other fields.Since digital watermarking technology was proposed, a large number of domestic and foreignscholars have conducted in-depth study, and have proposed many software-based watermarkingalgorithms. With the development and popularization of image processing softwares such asPhotoshop, ACDSee and so on, the software-based digital watermarking can not make peopleconvinced one hundred percent in some areas, especially digtal photos for court, electronic bill and soon. And for the complexity of the watermarking algorithm, software-based watermarking cannot meetthe requirement of real-time. The FPGA-based implementation of digital watermarking system caninstantly embeded watermark while the image was captured, which not only meet the requirement ofreal-time, but also greatly enhance the credibility of the image. In addition, the FPGA-basedwatermarking system has some advantages such as low power consumption, good reliability and lowcost, and it can be easily integrated into consumer electronics products. Thereforce, the research ofFPGA-based digital watermarking algorithm has important pratical value and sinificance.The main works of this paper contains:1, Through the study of the existing FPGA-Based watermarking algorithms, a blindwatermarking algorithm in DCT domain based on HVS(Human Visual System)is proposed in thispaper. The intermediate frequency coefficients in DCT domain is selected to embed the watermarkbased HVS in this algorithm. The chaotic sequence is used to select the embedding position, whichcan enhance the security of the algorithm. And the relevance of adjacent watermark is reducedthrough the Arnold scrambling of the watermark, which can enhance the robustness of thewatermarking algorithm. Experiments show that the algorithm has good invisibility and robustness.2, This paper finish the FPGA implementation of the watermarking algorithm. With the methodsof modular design, the overall framework of the system was given first, then each module of theframework was designed and verified, respectively. Finally, the design can work properly whenverified using the FPGA board, and the watermark image extracted form the carrier image is clearly.
