Wireless sensor network (WSN) is an intelligent autonomous measuring network system consisted of many sensors which are distributed everywhere and have the ability to communicate and compute. The system is used for monitoring, sensing, collecting, processing information of monitored objects and transmitting data to ultimate user. It can be applied in many areas such as military affairs, commerce, medical care and environmental monitoring. This paper is to make research on WSN management and data compression. WSN management includes routing protocol,MAC protocol and topology control, and routing protocol is paid much more attention in this paper. Embarking from routing mechanism, we propose the advanced algorithm of LEACH based on mobile sensor node. The key point is to add a few high-energy mobile sensors to the sensor network. The mechanism of selecting cluster head ensures the communication in WSN follows the free space model. When there exists low-energy cluster in the net, the mobile sensor moves to the best cluster head position and selects itself cluster head to prolong the survival time. Moreover, we propose a method based on broadcasting data compression. When the sensor carries on the wireless communication, it launches radio-frequency signal which is received by other sensors in the cluster. The other sensors utilize the information received to compress their own data. Using classical source coding, it can be more effective to remove data redundancy and reduce energy consumption as well as the algorithm complexity comparing using distributed source coding.
