Diode-pumped all-solid-state lasers (DPSSL) have more advantages than traditional lamp-pumped laser, such as high efficiency, compactness, high stability, and long lifetime. All-solid-state green and ultraviolet lasers have become an enthusiastic focus in the field of laser due to their many advantages. They are widely used in the field of industry, optical printing, precise material marking, medical treatment, spectroscopic analysis and scientific research in general. The contents can be outlined as follows:1. All-solid-state laser's main advantages and the research background of all-solid-state UV laser as well as the present development at local and abroad are introduced.2. Introduce the parameters of peak power, pulse energy and pulse duration base on the velocity functions.3. Based on the principle of phase-match and the optics characters of KTP, we obtain 4.1W green laser output by using extra-cavity frequency doubling. The optical conversion frequency from IR to green is approximate 25.1%.4. After introduce the theory of sum-frequency, we obtained the result of 595mW by extra cavity frequency tripling with a BBO crystal. In experiment we obtain 11.2W IR laser, 2.2W green laser and 595mW 355nm laser respectively, the conversion frequency is approximately 5% from IR to UV.
