UV sources are widely used in the field of industry, precise materials making, medical treatment, spectroscopic analysis, optical printing and scientific research in general. Diode-pumped all-solid-state ultraviolet lasers which have more advantages of high efficiency, impact structure ,better beam quality and high output power than traditional have become a central of focus in the field of lasers. This dissertation has made some theoretical and experimental study around all-solid-state UV laser.All-solid-state laser's main advantages, The research background of all-solid-state UV laser as well as the present development at home and abroad are introduced.Based on the rate equations, the peak power, the pulse energy and the time behavior of Q-switched laser are deduced.;the physical essence of characters of A-O Q-switching are also analyzed. based on the coupling wave equation, We also analyzed the double-frequency and triple-frequency theory and technique that applied universally in the field of solid-state laser and the effect of phase matching upon conversion efficiency.Then Both a series of laser characteristics of Nd:YVO4, Nd:GdVO4 crystal and the advantages of the double-frequency and triple-frequency of LBO crystal are introduced.and the design theory about laser resonator with low sensitivity to focal length fluctuations is introduced.: According to the design theory about laser thermostable resonator,a group of cavity parameter is made certain. we have developed a LD end-pumped Nd:YVO4/LBO(NCPM phase-matching )A-O Q-switched 532nm green laser. Using intracavity SHG technique,The average power of 2.5W at 532nm was obtained when pump power was 25W and repetition frequency was 45 kHz.Furthur,Using intracavity SHG and THG technique, we have developed a LD end-pumped Nd:GdVO4/LBO/LBO(PM phase-matching) A-O Q-switched 355nm UV laser. The average power of 11.5mW at 355nm was obtained when pump power was 25W andthe repetition frequency was 50kHz. The last chapter is the summarization and suggestion of the paper.the laser have better patter and stability.
