Web-Based E-Procurement System Development

E-procurement which is a crucial component of e-commerce is Internet-based platform for an e-commerce model. Through E-procurement system, Procurement activities of enterprises would be more scientific and manageable,the procurement cycle would be shortened,procurement costs would be lowered,material waste and manpower would be reduced,and the transparency of procurement transactions would be increased which can reduce the possibility of black-box operation. Besieds, E-procurement system would promote enterprise restructuring and adjustment of the economic structure, which would greatly improve the management level of enterprises, technical level and competitiveness.The author having studied the basic technology and theory of e-commerce, using a certain large state-owned enterprises as the background develop e-procurement system of enterprises which could run at environments of Internet/Intranet/Extranet and realize some basic functions such as: the online application,online processing, online bidding, online evaluation of tender information, and online discussions with the signing, Digital signatures and authentication.In the process of system development,the author adopted software engineering technology, Web technology, database technology, IP network video technology, XML technology,.NET technology, digital authentication technologies.This paper introduced the author of the above research and development work.
