Benefited for advantages of infrastructureless, self-organize, self-management, wireless sensor network (WSN) is capable for military task, environment monitor, health service, home network and other commercial applications. The routing scheme is an essential technology of WSN which is related to the structure of network, the quality of service (QOS) and application of scene technology. Since the wireless sensor node is always energy and resource limited system, the use of limited energy and resource as long as possible to maximum the lifetime of WSN, has been widespread concerned and become a criterion to evaluate the routing scheme. This paper devotes to finding a solution which can provide a maximal lifetime of the network with balanced energy consumption among all sensor nodes. What's more, it also avoids the energy consumption and the deterioration of the network's property which is resulted from the failures of certain nodes. This paper is not only describing the principle of WSN simulation by using computer network simulation technology and some popular simulation platform, but also introducing some common models, such as node model, network model, energy consumption model and performance evaluation model. Computer network simulation technology is a primary method to evaluate the performance of designed routing scheme in this paper. After deeply analysis of WSN, this paper delivers some factors to design a reasonable network and some typical routing schemes for WSN with proper comments. After imbibing the results of the previous research, this paper proposes two routing schemes, which are Static Clustering with Intra-cluster Resources Scheduling (SCIRS) and Low-Energy Static Clustering Scheme (LESCS), to solve performance deterioration caused by unbalanced energy consumption. The starting point for design, application, operation mechanism and analysis details of these two schemes are also elaborated in relevant sections of the paper. Based on the above-described computer network simulation technologies, the statistical data abstracted from different simulation scenarios and analysis of simulation results are also appropriately analyzed in this paper. Finally, this paper ends with a conclusion of summarization and work prospects in the next step.
