| A manufacturer should not only provide the product at a proper low cost and high quality, but also provide the customer a customized product, meanwhile, the respond time should be short.It's really a challenge to the manufacturer to meet the customer's demands in the three dimensions. To provide product at low cost and high quality, the manufacturer should have advance capability of manufacturing and cost control; to attain personalization, the manufacturer should provide the mode of BTO and improve its flexibility of manufacturing; to get a quick respond time, he should construct a quick and effective information system so as to strengthen the communication among the members in the supply chain. The communication between customer and manufacturer is especially important.A web-based customization system was designed from the points of accelerating information flow, strengthening the interaction between customer and manufacturer, providing personalization. First, the factors that influence a company's core competences are analyzed, customization degree is defined. On this basis, the literatures about customization system and the related applications is reviewed, the possible problems and the points worth to improve are analyzed. Then, the system are modeled by object-oriented method and described by UML. And then, the factors related to web-based customization are analyzed, the business process about web-based customization is presented and the customer-oriented customization is designed. Lastly, a web-based car customization prototype is designed on the basis of former analyzing. Moreover, the system is evaluated by a theoretical model. It proves that it can improve the enterprise's competence. |
