Receiving, Controlling And Processing Of Streaming Data On Client Of An IPTV System

With the fast development of modern computer network technologies, users'needs for broadband services are increasing, and service providers put much energy on research and development of it. As a home media center system, IPTV has turned to be the hot point of research and development since the 1990s.At first, this thesis will discuss general idea of IPTV system design, together with mVision solution. Then it will seperatly discuss receiving and controlling of streaming data, and Digital Right Management (DRM), which are important function modules for client software of an IPTV system.RTP and RTSP are key protocols for receiving and controling of streaming data. This thesis will analyze them seperatly. In order to provide better user interfaces, the two protocols, to some extent, need to be extended and modified. According to the requirements of the system, this thesis will discuss modulization and implementation of the two protocols. And the mechanisms they used to cooperate with each other to achieve streaming data receiving and controlling will be discussed, too.DRM is the requirement strongly suggested by content providers for protections of digital contents. MVision system defines a DRM solution for its own. This thesis will discuss the DRM resolution, and then the modulization and implementation of it on client software.Multi-Instance is the requirement needed for support of mult-streaming. All RTP, RTSP and DRM need to support it. This thesis will try the method of layering, which seperates a module into interface layer and function implementation layer. Accoding to encapsulation of instance data and re-entry design of function layer routines, multi-instance requirement is totally satisfied.According to this thesis, the author hopes to give some general ideas of design and implementation of IPTV system.
