Kaolin is widely used in several fields, such as making porcelain, making firebrick, making latex, making petroleum catalyzer, making paper and making dope, etc. With the development of our industry and the enhancement of the production quality, the requirement of high quality Kaolin is rapidly increasing. Kaolin rotating furnace refered in this paper is made up of eight burning sections which is heated up by coal gas. Each section embrace muzzle nozzle and wind-gate implement, respectively. The temperature of each section is controlled by Muzzle nozzle and wind-gate implement.Because of the non-linearity, time- variability, multi-parameter, intense coupling of the heating process and especially, the random interfere and anfractuosity of process, precision mathematics model is difficult to be established. The routine PID algorithm can not meet the requirement of control. Thus, the problem that solved in this paper is to establish a fuzzy control model to accomplish fuzzy control of the temperature of rotating furnace with rather dynamic characteristic. The primary subject of this paper is to(1) testify the necessity of control system of Kaolin calcining by discussing the development and foreground of Kaolin calcining, and depicting the crucial technics of calcining.(2) discuss the origin and evolution of fuzzy control theory, analyze the mathematics basis of fuzzy control theory, introduce the composing of rotating furnace system. Then investigate the principle of rotating furnace system and propose the control scheme.(3) control system focused on PLC achieve the aim of the fuzzy control by programming and visual control by configuration software. This system is based on "IF-THEN" which possess of the merit of high reliability and simple operation. This system possess of function of practice sampling, data processing by PLC on the background and dynamic displaying, database query, alarming, etc. on the stage.(4) System designing, programming, practice-driving and debugging are accomplished in this theme which achieved the demand of visual control and control precision.
