Based on the demand for energy resources owing to China's high speed economic development, and the consideration of national energy strategy, one of the main way to resolve the energy problems in our country is to develop ocean oil and natural gas industry. Offshore platforms are the basic facilities for the development of ocean oil and natural gas, and the base of the production work at the sea and the base for living. In recent years, with the flourish development of offshore platform industry in our country, a number of urgent problems claim our attention, among which one of them is the study and application of risk and risk management."Summarization of application of risk management on design and construction of jacket offshore platform"is an intercross problem which refers to risk management and offshore platform engineering. The problem is widespread and in order to do well on this problem, the work of this dissertation are as follows:First, this dissertation reviews the developing history and current research of risk management and its application to offshore platform. Because of the complicated environment offshore platform faces and the incomplete investigation of risk offshore platform encounters, the author puts forward that it is indispensable to study and manage the risks that the offshore platform comes into with.Second, this dissertation outlines the theories and methods of risk and risk management, including the relevant concepts, essence and classification of risks, the acceptable rules of risks and the cost-benefit principle, so it gives us a comprehensive understanding of risk. It also outlines the concept and procedure of risk management, and in particular introduces the ideas and general steps of the approaches frequently used, which will be convenient for the implementation of risk management.Third, this dissertation summarizes the essence of uncertainty (risk), physical essence of structure invalidation, the relative theory of reliability. It elaborates the sources of uncertainty of jacket structure. It discuses the relation of risk, invalidation probability and reliability. Considering the risks in structure design, this dissertation adopts the reliability index to express the risk in actual engineering and induces the risk through developing the reliability.Fourth, oceanic loads, especially the extreme oceanic loads, are the foundation of structure reliability design of jacket offshore platform. This dissertation summarizes their exreme probability distribution model and combination rules of loads. Then it summarizes the computing methods of reliability of jacket structure members and structure system. Although the SFEM develops quickly, it has not been used in actual computing widely.Considering the widespread application of the determinate FEM, we can make use of this powerful tool to study the structure reliability.Fifth, this dissertation takes operation in high spaces and lifting operation for examples, using the risk management analyse methods, to dicuses the application of risk management on construction of jacket offshore platform.
