AS THE COMPUTER INFORMATION SYSTEMS ARE GETTING MORE AND MORE COMPLEX, NEW CHALLENGES ARE MEET DURING THE DESIGN AS WELL AS IMPLEMENTATION PHRASE. DISTRIBUTED OBJECT ACCESSING TECHNOLOGIES ARE NOW INTENSIVELY APPLIED IN LARGE-SCALE DISTRIBUTED APPLICATION SYSTEMS. THIS THESIS INTRODUCES THE DEVELOPMENT OF A VPRI (VEGETABLE PESTICIDE REMAINING INSPECTION) PROJECT BASED ON MICROSOFT .NET FRAMEWORK AND THE .NET REMOTING, A DISTRIBUTED OBJECT ACCESSING MECHANISM. BECAUSE OF THE COMPLEXITY AND THE INHERENT DISTRIBUTING CHARACTER RESIDING IN THE SYSTEM, ITS COMPONENTS HAVE TO BE RUN ON MULTIPLE HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE PLATFORMS. AN EFFICIENT, SCALABLE AND CUSTOMIZABLE INTER-COMMUNICATION ENABLING TECHNOLOGY IS ESSENTIAL TO THE WHOLE APPLICATION. WE CHOOSE .NET FRAMEWORK AS THE BASE DEVELOPING AND DEPLOYING PLATFORM AND THE .NET REMOTING FOR THE CONNECTION OF THE DISTRIBUTED COMPONENTS INVOLVED IN THE SYSTEM. TO PROVIDE A UNIFIED SERVICE API FOR THOSE MOBILE CLIENTS, A SIMPLIFIED .NET REMOTING IMPLEMENTATION ON .NET COMPACT FRAMEWORK, NAMED AS WINCE REMOTING, IS ALSO IMPLEMENTED FOR THOSE RESOURCE CONSTRAINED DEVICES. CONSIDERING THE LIMITED AND UNSTABLE CONNECTIVITY (FOR INSTANCE, GRPS) BETWEEN THE MOBILE DEVICES AND THE INFRASTRUCTURE, QOS SUPPORTING, THE DOTQOS, IS ADDED INTO .NET REMOTING. THE CLIENTS CAN THUS APPOINT QOS REQUIREMENTS AGAINST THE SERVER IN A CONVENIENT, EFFECTIVE AND SECURE WAY AND THE GUARANTEE FOR THE CORRECTNESS OF SERVICE INVOCATION IS ARCHIVED. THE FACT SHOWS THAT THIS SYSTEM HAS HIGH AVAILABILITY, SCALABILITY AND PROTABILITY BY THE APPLICATION OF THE ADVANCED .NET TECHNOLOGY. BESIDES, THE EXTENSIONS (WINCE REMOTING AND DOTQOS), ON THE EXISTING MECHANISMS SATISFIED THE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FROM THE PROJECT. THESE TWO MAIN CONTRIBUTIONS MAKE THE PROJECT HIGHLY PRAISED. |
