With global economy developing, market competition being more drastic, catching hold of market requirement and quickening production's development with high quality are keys to strengthen the enterprise competition. Collaborative design technologies combine computer technology,multimedia technology and network communication technology with advanced manufacture technology, which make the job colony members collaborate,alternate and negotiate with each other,parallel collaborating to complete the design task can farthest shorten the product's development cycle.Grid technology is a new network computing and resource organizing technology, which is developed based on network and information technology in recent years. It's a sustaining infrastructure of distributed high performance computation and data disposal, and it can manage lots of resources distributed in geography and organization, and can make dispersive work group adequately share resources and cooperately work.This paper studies key technologies of grid-based collaborative design on aspect of theory and system design, combines destributing collaborative design technology and grid technology in order to solve resource sharing problems existing in collaborative design system. The paper brings a grid-based collaborative design framework (GBCD), in which OGSA (Open Grid Services Architecture),Globus,advanced network technology and middleware technology are integrated. This system is divided into four layers. From the bottom up, they are grid resource layer, grid middleware layer, collaborative design layer and application layer. Each layer's function requirements and the key techniques such as resource management, task parser of GBCD are discussed in detail in this paper. Finally the realization projects are given. A GBCD system can been found based on these projects and strategy, and the final goal of collaborative design can be realized. GBCD overcomes the closure and localization of traditional design, takes full advantage of network resources, shortens the design cycle, and strengthens the enterprise competition.
