| People can obtain information on Internet faster and more conveniently with the appearance of streaming media technology. At present, the streaming media system normally has been implemented in centralized model of C/S by means of media server. Although this model has many advantages, at the same time, it also has some problems such as its bad robustness, weak security and lower reliability because of dependence on the key server node.P2P is a new application mode used in Internet and JXTA is a P2P supported platform implemented in network's low layers that is distributed by SUN Corporation. The project developed by this author works on JXTA platform and uses P2P technique to develop a streaming media system which supports video on demand. In this P2P streaming media system, without using centralized server, every participant has equal position and the system has utilized P2P technique to realize its VOD transaction that includes media files querying, sharing,peers connecting and communicating.The paper has made research and discussed on JXTA-based Streaming media System. The author's paper work mainly includes:Analyzing the shortcomings of the streaming media system based on C/S mode and the advantages of P2P-based streaming media system. Proving the feasibility of realizing a VOD supported streaming media system based on JXTA.Discussing the common three network models of P2P and giving a P2P network model that includes super nodes as this project's network model according to the characteristics of the streaming media.Analyzing the demand of this streaming media system and giving the system overall design and function modules design.Discussion on detailed implementation of JXTA-based Streaming media system. At last, the paper has realized a JXTA-based streaming media system which supports video on demand.The paper has also made testing and results analyzing to the streaming media system, validating the previous designing thought, and drawing to a conclusion. |
