This paper based on the most important step in the process of cement production --the cement rotary kiln as the studying object, by using of industrial CCD camera, acquire the image of the burning zone meantime and obtaining the characteristic information of the parameters from the image, make use of the digital image processing technique and the fuzzy controlling theory to measure and control the parameter of the cement rotary kiln on-line.The production process of the cement rotary kiln is typical thermodynamics engineering, the most important craft in it is the process of grog burning. Due to cement kiln has the characteristic of non-linearity,pure lag,strong coupling changing easily, the measurement is difficult to exactly reflect the actual circumstance because of affecting by the mist and buggy and grog, etc, so use traditional control ways to control cement kiln is very difficult. This paper is based on digital image processing, reach the kiln's completely control by using the fuzzy controlling theory. As a result, it has significance effect on controlling the cement rotary kiln.At the beginning of the paper introduced the digital image processing technology. According to it, get the temperature of the burning zone and the speed of the cement rotary kiln in time; following the progress of researching fuzzy control theory and design way of fuzzy controller to acquainting cement manufacturing process; last, based on the processing of cement production, cement industry character and experience of expertise worker in control centre founded the rule list of cement kiln input and output parameters of fuzzy control. This paper also brings forward fuzzy control models which use the temperature of the calcining zone and the temperature of exhaust gas in the afterbody of the kiln as the control parameters, putting the detecting data into the database. This research founded a platform by"VC++", the platform which can continue display imagines gain from CCD and input into computer, it achieve the purse of online measure and store the parameters of temperature of the burning zone, exhaust gas in the afterbody of the kiln and the speed of the cement rotary kiln. Then research the kiln's fuzzy control by using these measured parameters.
