The Method Research Of Publishing Of Digital Library Metadata Based On XML/Web Services

Extensible Markup Language(XML),the metadata standard has been announced by W3C.It standardizes the resources description and semantics on Internet.It also offers an infrastructure for the encoding ,exchange and reuse of metadata. In this paper, considering the large amount of metadata: DC and CNMARC (Because CNMARC can convert to DC); we present the CNMARC metadata description approach based on XML Schema. It enables the possibility of the conversion from the CNMARC specific format metadata to the general machine-readable and understandable metadata, and provides data foundation for the publishing metadata.Through rich analysis and research of XML and Web Services, the author develops a new model of digital library metadata release system based on XML/Web Services. In which, XML is used to realize standard data exchange. The framework take the Web Services as distributed computing mechanism, through SOAP news implementation isomerism application seamless alternately. This system models has fully manifested the merit and the Web Services new module thought which the XML content and the form separates. It has greatly facilitated the metadata swap and the release in the digital library.After establishing the release system, the author design and realize a Web Services instance of distributed digital library metadata release, which provides organic combination of the system model and practical applications.The application will provide help for the merge between resource in library and Internet,it has important meaning for the library stored information sharing.
