In the field of embedded system application, embedded system can be connected to Internet which realizes the function of sharing resources, communication and status controlled. The connection and application of embedded system in Internet is called as Embedded Internet. It will be used widely in the future. In this paper, the method of ATmega128 connected to internet with embedded TCP/IP protocol was researched and realized. Finally, the embedded system can communicate with the other devices stably and effectively in Internet. It was implemented by thin TCP/IP protocol based on the embedded systemμC/OS-II. The emphasis of this paper is that how to design and realize the embedded TCP/IP protocol. Analyzing the working principle of ARP, IP, ICMP and TCP protocol and the specified application environment of embedded system, some unnecessary functions of TCP/IP protocol were deleted and finally realized the thin TCP/IP protocol. Then the simple HTTP protocol was implemented in this system. In the end, the embedded system was designed as an embedded web server. It can be accessed by the client web browser directly. The important work of this paper was listed as below.1. After analyzing the hardware architecture of embedded system using the kernel of ATmega128 and Lan91C111, the process of designing the hardware of every modules was presented. Then it dwelled on the design method of LAN91C111's driver program.2. The process of embedded operating systemμC/OS-II was transplanted to ATmega128 was analyzed in this paper.3. The kernel of this paper is designing and realization of embedded TCP/IP protocol. Analyzing the working principle of ARP, IP, ICMP and TCP protocol and the specified application of embedded system, some unnecessary functions of these protocols were deleted and the thin TCP/IP protocol was implemented in ATmega128 finally.4. The simple HTTP protocol was realized on the base of this system. And an embedded web server system based on ATmega128 was finished in the end.
