At present, the rapid development of computer network technologyhas being promoting the popularization of e-commerce technology. Itchanges the patterns of transactions between consumers and suppliers. Inthe past, customers must go to marketplaces to make commodityexchange personally, but now customers can order commodity fromnetwork conveniently. At this stage, the value of goods information in theInternet to display on two-dimensional image mostly, it can't demonstratethe intrinsic information of products. This will lead to consumer can'tdeeply enough understand of the brand feature, structure and function ofproducts, which will influence consumers' purchase interest.3D virtual product can simulate feature of real product in variousproperties, including appearance, structure, and function. Whenconsumers interactive cooperate with the 3D virtual products, its effectthat can be compared directly facing the goods. So consumers could havedeeply understood information of real products from virtual products.In this paper, three-dimensional virtual product application andresearch in the e-commerce is the emphasis. It uses Java3D technical, combining with 3Dsmax, which is a 3D modeling implement, we carryout a display platform of virtual product, and apply it to an e-commercewebsites.The paper focuses on the research of virtual products displaying onnetwork, and applying on e-commerce. The organization of this paper isdescribed as following:Firstly, we analyzed the new demand of the current e-commerce indisplaying products. Combined with characteristics of 3D virtual productsin e- business environment, we expatiate the attribute information which3D virtual product should have. Then the paper presents an idea that theprocess of modeling was separate from function designing.Secondly, we designed 3D virtual commodity model with 3Dsmax,using Cult3D and Java3D technology to make detailed design, takingJava3D technology to design functions of these models. In particular, thispaper gives UML Class Diagram Imagine to demonstrate the interactivefunction category and their relations. Otherwise some key technologiesare expatiated, which used in build three-dimensional virtual scene,including billboards, LOD, picking technique, and "avatar" technology.By comparing the design process between Cult3D and Java3D, Java3Dcan prove efficient use of the virtual display the authenticity of goods.Finally, using the above key technologies, we carried out a virtual product development platform. In the process of programming, we designthe virtual products in its material, textures, and actions, to efficientlyrealized authenticity of virtual products.The study resolves the imperfection and unreliability problems oftwo-dimensional image when a product is displayed. It also demonstratesthe viability and wide potential applications foreground that virtualproducts applied in e-commerce.This system is funded by the key international cooperation projects(ID: 2005C34002) of Science and Technology Department in ZhejiangProvince.
