Data integration is the demand of cobrdination between not only differententerprises but different departments inside them, and the goal is to realize datasharing between heterogeneous data sources, so as to utilize resources effectively andattain high Performance of the whole application system.Today, more and more enterprise applications need to integrate the differentinformation from diverse database sources, and a system to integrate heterogeneousdatabase sources dispersed over a computer network must be developed and severalchallenges must be overcome to establish such a system: heterogeneity, integrality, semantic conflict and content restriction. In this paper, against above problems, we first introduce the state of research fordata integration and Problems, and then analyze the feasibility of heterogeneous dataintegration based on XML and JAVA from the JAVA technology and XML technologyin data model specification. Finally, based on these analyses, we put forward a modelof Heterogeneous Database Integration Middleware System Based on Xml and Java. Then we introduced the design and implementation of every part of the middlewareone by one. At the end of the paper, we use an example in personnel informationquery system to describe how to use the middleware.
