XML-Based Heterogeneous Data Integration Technology Research And Middleware Development

The heterogeneous data integration middleware based on XML is an efficient method of enterprise heterogeneous database system of information island. This method provides a unified platform for users by the global resources management, and then users could use various heterogeneous database data by the way of global querying and realize heterogeneous environment data sharing without knowing the distribution and composition of each database structure.Aiming at resolving problems in the process of heterogeneous data integration, such as the scarcity of information in the island system data structure, the low accessing efficiency of data integration querying, adding database information in the heterogeneous data integration process mainly by hand, and so on, this paper does some research and discusses some solution, including:(1) To the limitation of conventional database integration middleware, this paper designs a heterogeneous data integration middleware based on XML, which provides solution for the above problems, and completes the architectural structure of middleware.(2)For the information loss of island system data structure, this paper using the metadata of database system gets physical storage structure of heterogeneous database corresponding logical structure through reverse engineering.(3)This paper uses the logic structure of heterogeneous database, taking the description of data tables and the table relations for example, generates information stored in XML format of heterogeneous database information directly and simplify the process adding local data information to the middleware.(4) To solve the problem of visit efficiency, this paper proposes the way of adding cache area in middleware data integration based on the advantages and disadvantages of virtual view and materialized views and.(5)Using SQL as global query language and to simplify the method of global querying, this paper presents the query optimization method in the process of global querying and gives the algorithm of the global querying decomposition and merger.Based on the research above, this paper applied B/S mode to realize heterogeneous data integration middleware system based on XML. The practical application testing results showed that the system can integrate and use heterogeneous data of heterogeneous database more conveniently and effectively, there by realizing the share of resources.
