This paper is thorough to study the still image system based on JPEG2000 . Firstly,An improved scheme of forming context based on JPEG2000 is presented in case thatthe significant information of a coefficient in the present bit-plane doesn't affect thecontext of the other coefficients in that bit-plane. secondly, based on the ROI coding ofJPEG2000, using the method of Upscaling, QUAD tree coding and distortion-rateslopes shift algorithm are proposed, which using QUAD tree to code the figureinformation of ROI and using distortion-rate slopes shift to increase the truncation byteof ROI, so the purpose of coding ROI is reached. Finally, an ROI interactive designmethod based on JPEG2000 is put forward, the method uses interactive mouse to definethe vertex coordinate of interesting area, and use the method of straight line connectingto realize the close design of field, then get the defination of ROI through the method ofarea-fast-filling, at last interactive ROI coding is realized by lifting the ORI mask areaof wavelet domain, coding vertex coordinate and bit-plane coding.
