The satellite interference multispectral imaging device is a new and high technology in the competition of the current era. The China is the second country holding the middle resolution spaceflight interference multispectral imaging device in the world while the spaceship "Shenzhou-3" was emitted triumphantly. The information of the interference multispectral images plays strategic roles in the fields of military and human life affairs, and the research of the image processing for such kind of image is much meaningful in the reality.First, the key algorithm of the new international standard JPEG2000 is studied seriously and the optics imaging elements of the LASIS (Large aperture static imaging spectrometry) in 863 projects is analyzed deeply. Then in order to apply the methods of JPEG2000 to LASIS multispetral images, the large numbers of research is carried on the in the direction of theory analysis and new methods developing. Furthermore a hardware implementation scheme is designed to realize the applications of the methods to the satellite remote sensing system. The main work and achievements are as follows:An algorithm based on rate-distortion slope lifting for ROI (Region of Interest) coding is proposed, which overcomes the shortages of the bit plane lifting ROI coding method and keep the compatible ability for the JPEG20000 standard. The new method enables flexible adjustment of compression fidelity in the ROI and background, and makes better qualities of the whole image attainable. Aim at protecting the spectrum information in the satellite LASIS image, a self-adaptive rate-distortion slope lifting ROI method is proposed. At the same time to avoid the little targets lost in remote sensing images, a method based on absolute error measure is also proposed in which wavelet domain coding and error image coding are mixed, and then their code-streams are optimized so that better compression efficiency is obtained and the error propagation decreased. The offset between two adjacent images is the specificity of LASIS hyper-spectral images, which is worked out by matching in wavelet domain in our new serial difference image compression coding method. It is suitable for easier hardware implementation with the low cost in storage and coding delay. The real time algorithm with high efficiency and high performance is the key factor in the satellite remote sensing images coding system. A fast algorithm for EBCOT hardware implementation is proposed with lower complexity, and the corresponding hardware implementation scheme based the bit plane parallel coding is adopted in our demo system.
