Remote USIM Card Management Under 3G Networks

As 3G coming, mobile value-added services develop rapidly in our country and the market scale continually grows. However, variety of value-added services make USIM (User Service Identity Module) cards become more and more complicated. It is needed urgently that an effective mothod to manage customer's USIM cards remotely. This method can update USIM cards in time, and can avoid huge economic losses caused by changing USIM cards.This papar firstly analyse USIM cards principle and methods to manage USIM cards. Based on the analysis, this paper bring forward OTA (Over the air) technology as technique line.The main work and achievements of the paper include:●Investigated USIM card principle, compared SIM and USIM cardtechnology and analyzed methods to manage USIM cards remotely.●Analysed the shortage of remote manage platform under 2G Networks,brought forward an improved model with BIP techonology under 3G Networks.●Designed the structure of remote management platform under 3GNetworks, including designing function model, interface model and security model.●Developed the remote management platform according to the functionalrequirements, analysed the efficiency of the platform and raised improvement program.
