With the development of economy and the improvement of people's living standards, house meters such as ammeter, water meter and gas meter are used more widely. At the same time, reading the meters has become a mass and troublesome work. As for the readers different company only responsibility for there own company's meter, it reduce in the consumer's peace life is frequently disturbed by their different meter's reader. That means the traditional ways of reading meters no longer adapt to the development of society any more. The long-distance electric energy collecting system is one method reading and processing data automatically with computer and communication. It is the need of improving the automatic level of energy consumption and the necessity of rapid development of computer and communication technology too. It not only may relieve reading person's labor intensity, reduce the reading mistake, but also has the advantage of high speed and good real-time. GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) connect wideband (e. g. Interact) with wireless communication network, so GPRS can be widely applied in Intemet, remote mobile management, remote collect and so on. According to GPRS's character, this paper has raised a new method in long-distance electric energy collecting system.Firstly, in this dissertation, a new long-distance electric energy collecting system based on GPRS is presented to meet the application for GPRS in data transfer of wireless remote electric energy collecting system. This scheme utilizes direct connection between GPRS network and Internet, setting a center server in Intemet to take the charge of data communication with GPRS terminal units for real-time data acquisition and transfer.Secondly, The purpose of this paper is to studied and analyzed series of international GPRS protocols, put forward technological difficulties and requirements during estabilishing GPRS data service channels, concludes the realizing ways about how to estabilish PPP link, made certain the technical line and design idea to this subject; Second researches several means structuring the data acquisition networks based on GPRS networks, proves more reasonable to structure data acquisition system based on GPRS and Intemet communication networks and works out its concrete realizingscheme,parsestheprincipleandrealizationabouttwokey technologies-Dynamic Domain Name and Port Mapping, which are often encountered when connecting the data center server to Internet; Third researches international Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP), exposes its essential and tidy programming-scheme, and also explains how to embed TCP/IP (including UDP and TCP) datagram into PPP datagram to exchange data.Finally, we integrated embedded system and embedded Linux technology together, a software and hardware platform has been establish based on ARM7TDMI core microprocessor S3C44BOX, describes the way of upward/downward communications in detail, including different character of every mode of communication. Introduced the designed module of the GPRS long-distance electric energy system in detail, and GPRS module program flow diagram. After that the used-and embedded systemμCLinux established are also introduced in detail. As a part of an embedded system, some device driver programs and application programs are designed.
