With the emerging of Fieldbus technology, manufacturers realize that the instruments with PROFIBUS interface show a greater market potential. After the particular introduce of the development of PROFIBUS-DP technology and communication standard, related knowledge and issues have been expatiated in this paper. On the basic of hardware platform, internal program which is implemented according to V0/V1 state machine is added into the slave interface.Considering the great market requirement, the investment on DP interface has operation significance. With the new solution, the field bus interface consisting of ASIC SPC31 and the MCU 80C51 has been adopted. While the low-power single chip microcomputer is used as a micro-controller, most of the state machine is handled by the protocol chip SPC3. Because the mature of physical circuit of PROFIBUS driver, the emphases was focus on the research of communication state machine, internal program and the final certification test. While the hardware technology and the electro circuit are just introduced in a few words, a particular description of the implementation of state machine is given, which is including the principle and the final code of internal program.With the testing platform for the connection system set up based upon the condition, the testing of the interface was eventually conducted with the expected result achieved accordingly.The in-depth research of the paper has showed an example of the development of PROFIBUS-DP products and provides a more appropriate way for further development.
