PROFIBUS technology is a hot pot in the current field of control technology. It integrates several kinds of technologies, such as digital communication, computer science, automatioc and control system which is completely distribute, completely digital, intelligent, bidirectional, connected, multivariable and multicontact.In the current standards of PROFIBUS, PROFIBUS is prevalent. In addition, PROFIBUS -DP which is used in the communication between automatic control system and decice level distribution is the advanced bus technology in the market, especially its application in the control system of multiple motors driving.The application and research of PROFIBUS-DP technology have been fully-fledged abroad, but it is mainly in unitized device from big corporations such as SIEMENS, the independent research and development are lacked. According to the intelligent slave station based on DP technology are presented after the theory about PROFIBUS-DP technology is analyzed.PROFIBUS-DP technology is introduced first, including its technology features, protocol structure, transmission technology and protocol access. As a compatible version of the application of PROFIBUS in factory, including the basic principle, components and configuration of the system, way of working, data transmission, fuction of DP and status mechanism of slave station.Based on sufficient theory analysis and researches, the feasibility of two prevalent plans of intelligent slave station communication interface system based on PROFIBUS-DP technology are analyzed. One plan is to develop intelligent slave station interface through using ASIC chip and MCU chip. Another plan is to develop intelligent slave station interface through realizing protocols in the link layer by using sofeware. The former is used to design the software and hardware of slave station interface in this paper ,SPC3 is used as ASIC and P89C669 is used as MCU . The realization process of software and hardware in this plan is intensively described in two chapters in this paper.In the end of the paper, there is a conclusion and prospect to the research in this project.
