Many technologies such as digital communication technology, computer technology, automation and control technology, network technology and intelligent instruments technology are integrated into the Fieldbus. Fieldbus control system constitutes the decentralized, digital, intelligent, bidirectional, interlink, multi-parameters, multi-point communication and control system, and becomes the trend of the development of automation and control.At present, FCS (Fieldbus Control System) is applied more and more extensive in the area of industrial control. PROFIBUS is rapid developed at china, more and more manufacturers have used PROFIBUS technology as the base industrial control system in their factories. The study and application of PROFIBUS have some practical significance, for integrated mastering this technology and making it more agile application with many control modes in the area of industrial control.The paper elaborates generation and development, protocol structure, transport mode of PROFIBUS. Exactly according to the current developmental actuality and application condition of PROFIBUS in our country, the paper emphatically analyzes the function characteristic of PROFIBUS-DP technology in the family of PROFIBUS, and studies and implements the form of much control mode. In the development of intelligent slave interface module, the paper introduces the realization method and software/hardware design of PROFIBUS-DP intelligent slave interface module. By using the PROFIBUS-DP protocol chip (SPC3) and singlechip, the module of PROFIBUS-DP intelligent slave interface module, which is used for digital input and output, has been developed.Finally, this paper summarizes the whole work of the task, and brings forward the further research direction and approach for the development and system integration of PROFIBUS-DP intelligent slave interface module. At the same time, the author makes his observation to the development of fieldbus, pointing that many fieldbus are coexistence and application together in one project.
