The Thought Of Yellow Journalism

In 1890s, when Pulitzer's New York World and Hearst's New York Journal was fighting against each other time consumingly and fiercely in their column of Yellow Kid, people entitled"yellow"the meaning of blowing emotion which existed in number of newspaper at that time. Yellow journalism showed on the stage of journalism history openly since then. From then on, it has been deducing mutiple variation with the change of time, and has become a kind of strong assignable trend which influenced deeply on the ecological environment of media.The special economic, social, thoughts conditions and the development of journalism itself in the period of the end of 19th century and the beginning of 20th century, when capital society changed from free capitalism to monopoly capitalism provided conditions for the birth and spread of yellow journalim. This paper cards and concludes the different forms and features of yellow journalism in different time on the base of analgzing history background. It also analyzes and concludes the influence of yellow journalism on Chinese journalism, from the critical point of view, it emphasizes that we are supposed to guide the practice of our social journalism with Marxism and prevent its negative affect.
