All-soild-state laser has a wide range of applications in sodium guide-star laser, laser medical treatment,stage lighting, city landscape, scientific research and etc.Through the introduction and derivation of related theory on yellow lasers,experimental parameters which were corresponding to the theory were calculated and simulated by matlab software to accomplish the research of high power589nm laser.Nd:YAG crystal was chose as the laser gain medium,KTP crystal was chose as the nonlinear sum-frequency crystal and side-pump was used in this system.Difference at time of two laser pulses were compensated by constructing time matching system,and thus the output power of the sum-frequency laser was improved.The F-P etalon was inserted into the laser cavity as a precise mode-selecting component to achieve589.159nm laser. The system was adjusted and optimized during the experimental process, and11.5W yellow laser source at589.159nm was obtioned by adopting the construction of intra-cavity sum-frequency. The linewidth is less than10pm, power stability is less than2%, and the pulse width is200ns.This system is used for the exploration of sodium guide-star.
