The emerging of DNA fingerprint technology has brought a change for the certification of seed quality. Since this technology could reflect the differences of DNA directly and has high specificity and peculiarity which could show the DNA fingerprint differences for different species and also the different branches in the same species, just like the human fingerprint of we human beings, this technology has become the most advanced technology for certification seed quality. Cause corn is one of the most important cereal crops in our country. The identification and certification of corn seed plays a significant role in corn trade the raise of corn production and the protection of certain species polypropylene ammonia gel electrophoresis experiment is easy to operate and well to duplicate and its band is quite dear to identify.Maize is an important provision in China. But it's hard to identify the quality by its appearance. Therefore, it's quite meaningful to research the maize seed. In 2006, Jilin province Science and Technology Commission (JSTC) had commenced a special project: Analysis and Design based on Maize Seed's DNA Fingerprint Image Database.On the basis of analyzing the characteristics of gel electrophoresis image of corn DNA, this paper designs a coding program for image retrieval contrast and a feasible solution and introduces the calculation and process of realization of molecular weight in the analysis of gel electrophoresis image and shows the corresponding calculation methods. Additionally, this paper explores the condition of molecular weight calculation and acquisition of essential parameters, introduces the methods and principles to acquire the parameters and gives out the code of measuring molecular weight of gel electrophoresis and the realization of definite calculation for lane and band coordinates.The calculation in this paper realizes the mixed program with visual C++ and Matlab. Visual C++ is used in the design and realization of GUI. Matlab is used in the graph disposal. Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Data Base is adopted in this research.
