With the rapid increase of network information, Internet has become the essential means for people to obtain information. But the huge information on the Web raise a new and challenging problem, as well as it brings convenience to the people. How to find out the best and effective services has become an important problem, while Web Service Discovery is just put forward to solve it.Service Discovery is an important part of the Web Service framework. Discovering the service according with consumer's requirement is the precondition of the realization of automatic service utilization, combination. And the quality of services calling is depended on the effect of service discovery.Current Web is oriented to people. The computer lacks the capabilities of understanding and analyzing the Web contents. It needs for massive participation in the process of the Web Services, and it can't realize intelligence. Current Web Services discovery technologies are based on WSDL and UDDI. However, WSDL is based on the description of syntax, which doesn't contain semantic information. WSDL lacks the semantic description of Web Services and has low level of intelligence. UDDI is based on the keyword-based discovery method. Some services semantically equivalent but syntactically different, and many irrelevant services may be included in their description the query keywords. In addition, UDDI can't capture the service semantics request or service description, which will lead to a low precision and recall.The purpose of adding the semantic support to Web Services is to extend the current Web Services, and make computers to understand each other, so as to achieve the automatic Web Services combination and discovery.This thesis can be logically divided into four parts: research ideas of the thesis, research on Semantic Web Service, Service Discovery technologies and Service Matching algorithms. The main works including:(1) Introducing the Semantic Web Service, Semantic Service Discovery mechanism, framework; Analyzing the research background and current research state of Semantic Web Service Discovery.(2) Studying and analyzing the deficiencies of current framework of Semantic Web Service Discovery, and discussing a Semantic Web Service framework based on distributed register.(3) Introducing the matching mechanism and engine of Semantic Web Service, extending and implementing a matching algorithm named "matching algorithm based on DAML-S" which presented by Massimo Paolucci.(4) Designing and implementing an enterprise application system based on Semantic Web Service. Introducing the framework, service description, combination, publishing and service searching of the system, which provide a good solution for the integration of semantic Web in enterprise applications.
