Research On Product Structure And Configuration Management

With the rapid development and great achievements in scientific kingdom today, computer aided technologies, such as CAD, CAE, CAM, CAPP etc, are widely used in manufacturing field, which in turn accelerate the social productivity development, and in the meanwhile bring some new challenges as well. More and more product design datum are accumulated with the application of these new technologies and stored in different computers in different web systems, and isolated from each other known as "isolation islands of information". It's an urgent issue to arrange and catalogue the valuable product information in line so that it can be absolutely shared, properly used and fully communicated. Under such a background, PDM (Product Data Management) comes into being which manages all the information and processes of relating to product.In order to deal with the changing market of increasing demand individuation and saving consignment time, the product configuration based on product structure modeling and management is becoming a research hotspot. This thesis studies the product structure modeling and configuration according to several company projects, and has developed a prototype system to validate it.This thesis takes the product structure and configuration management skills as key research, and discusses around the small and middle enterprises' characters and faced question. It analyzes and arranges materials about the product structure and configuration management theory in PDM system, the method of product structure and configuration is researched among which the course of configuration in serials and multi-view management of product structure are emphasized in this thesis, the algorithm is proposed and enhances the efficiency of product design. To research the product structure tree, including product structure model and search algorithm. A methodology for product structure modeling on the basis of weighted diagraph is proposed. The storage structure of recommended model is described by node vector and adjacency matrix. The algorithm of transferring the graphic model into storage structure is put forward. After studying product structure and configuration deeply, the architecture structure and design project based on the product design special system is proposed. It describes the product design model, the document and drawing management model and parts library management model in the system.Finally, the system's application in enterprise explains the process of design and implement of the product structure and configuration management model in the product design special system. It proves the correctness and validity of the system.
