Research And Application On Product Configuration Management For Manufacturing Domain

Enterprise informatization is an inevitable process for modern enterprise. During the process of enterprise informatization, two most important enterprise information management platforms appear, i. e. Product Data Management (PDM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). And Product Configuration Management (PCM) is the core and bridge between PDM and ERP. So researches on the key technology of PCM can help the share and exchange of data between this two platforms and accelerate the process of enterprise informatization.The thesis concentrates on the research on PCM technology for manufacturing domain. It starts on the importance of the PCM for the manufacture, follows with the functional requirement and key technology during the design and development of the PCM. Its main content is as follows:First, it analyses the two platforms-PDM and ERP and the need for data sharing between them, finds out that PCM is the common model and connection point of them. Then it reviews the current research on the PCM and its trends.Second, it researches on the BOM multiview technology to resolve the need of different BOM data during the different phase of the product life cycle and different department using BOM. BOM multiview information model and BOM multiview mapping technology are presented in the thesis. It also gives the process of data mapping between main BOM view.Third, it presents a product configuration method based on the product family model and generic BOM. The specific BOM can obtain by the instantiation of a GBOM.Fourth, the purpose of a research on technology is its application. A system prototype is developed based on the research in the thesis. And the successful implementation of the prototype in the enterprise verifies the validity of the method and technology in the paper and the practicality of the prototype system developed on it.
