The Research Of Some Important Technology Of The Product Configuration Management

Globalization competition and internationalization course demands the organization structure change a lot. The optimization or reforming of operation flow, the adjustment and standardization of product series, and so on, are the important measures to be adopted by manufacturing enterprises. Under this current, informationization is the only way for modern enterprises. During this process, Product Data Management(PDM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) are the two most important enterprise information management platforms, and Product Configuration Management (PCM) is the core and bridge between PDM and ERP. So researches on the key technology of PCM can help the share and exchange of data between this two platforms and accelerate the process of enterprise informationization.The thesis concentrates on the research of PCM technology for manufacturing domain. It starts on the status and importance of the PCM for the manufacture, follows with the functional requirement and key technology during the design and development of the PCM. Its main content is as follows:Firstly, it analyses the two platforms—PDM and ERP and the similarities and differences and the need for data sharing between them, finds out that PCM is the common model and connection point of them. Then it reviews the current research on the PCM and its trends.Secondly, the data of BOM is the basis of production and material controlling system, the association between project design and manufacturing management, and the core data during the all life circle of product. The thesis researches on the BOM multi-view technology to resolve the need of different BOM data during the different phase of the product life cycle and different departments using BOM. BOM multi-view information model and BOM multi-view mapping technology are presented in the thesis. It contains the product structure view model, BOM multi-view, and its processing flow.Thirdly, from the angle of system achievement, product configuration is a in/out system which puts in the configuration conditions and puts out theresults. It presents a product configuration method framework. The configuration unit mainly consists of requirement model, configuration model, evaluation model and configuration results. The configuration aims at the coherence between requirement model and results.Fourthly, the configuration technology is the point to carry out the effective product configuration management. This thesis gives the design and realization of the product configuration management based on a real Tiangong PDM System.
