Video communication technology via Internet has been becoming a very hot topic in recent years. With the development of VLSI and embedded technologies, embedded video communication terminals are becoming more and more attractive. The network interface and real time video transmission are the comparatively important modules.The embedded Web server is a kind of network equipments with high performance and low cost. It applies the embedded Internet technology to realizing remote monitoring, and has the following features: using it as a Web server, on the Internet, users can conveniently access and monitor industrial field equipments via Web browse; as a Gateway, it can realize large-scale high-speed information transmission and resources sharing;it can integrates with many kinds of field-bus interface. Different interface industrial field equipments can combine with Internet via the embedded Web server gateway.The paper take the combination of the embedded real-time operating system technology, the computer network technology, the DSP control and the development technology based on the digital video surveillance system.Futhermore, deep research in the embedded Web communication protocol technology is carried out.The paper first has made the detailed introduction to the TMS320DM642 multimedia processors,briefly introduced the related DSP development technology, the integrated development environment CCS, the DSP/BIOS real-time operating system, and the TI Corporation's network development tool bag NDK which C6000 series DSP provides. Based on DSP/BIOS, the TI Network developing kit (NDK) was used to support the TCP/IP protocol stack and the network driver was finished with suitable interface configuration.In the application software on DM642, using H.264 video codec standard as the basis, adopting the video transmit technique of RTP/RTCP has realized the real-time video data network transmission. After briefly introducing the characteristic of the RTP transport protocols and the basic principle of the RTP/RTCP agreement, suitable tailor to the RTP/RTCP agreement is taken according to the actual request.In order to increase the extendibility of the system and the audio stream for later use, the system uses the same audio and video encoding method, and has carried out the detailed analysis to the RTP/RTCP software.Finally, the paper descripes the realization of the Web site in detail.Based on of the TCP/IP protocol and a detailed anaysis of the HTTP agreement, using the general gateway connection CGI technology and Java Applet technology, the network user authentication as well as the Web site intercommunication can be realized.
