MPEG4 Network Video Surveillance System Based On DM642

With the increasing demand on video surveillance technology, embedded video surveillance system will have more and more extensive application prospects. Main harvest of this paper is that it introduces a MPEG4 embedded video surveillance system which is widely used in video compression and remote monitoring systems.First of all, we study the hardware characteristic of DM642 in depth, which includes the structure of CPU and memory, video peripheric, and even under the premise of study developes a server base on DM642, which includes schematic design and PCB layout design. The paper introduces the configuration and application of CCS and DSP/BIOS. Aiming at video compression, it focuses on the framework and component module of MPEG4 algorithm, and made an analysis of the hardware traits which is favor to optimization. In the last, this paper introduces the DirectShow technology which is based on VC++, and developes the PC client software by using this technology, meanwhile, this paper discusses about the NDK (Network Developer's Kit) provides by TI and communicates with network client under TCP/IP protocol stack.After test, it reflectes a fact that the system completes a CIF format network compression task of 45 frames per second and achieves the compression radio of 40 to120 successfully.
