The function of academic library is to provide literature and information resources to faculty and students. The quality of purchasing has a direct effect on the whole academic library service. So, purchasing is the first important factor of library business. Nowadays there are many challenges facing quality of purchasing under conditions of changing environment, including readers' multi-purpose needs, soaring price, limited budget, confused publishing and issuing system and mistake in purchasing policy or work. All these are of an effect on the quality of library purchasing. So quality control of purchasing has a practical meaning for academic library.This thesis introduces a purchasing quality control system for academic library by studying library purchasing theory abroad, analyzing other libraries' experiences in China and combining the author's work practice. The system consists of the macro-control subsystem, scientific book-selecting subsystem and purchasing quality evaluation subsystem. It is applied to the whole purchasing process to ensure purchasing quality effectively.The thesis consists of six parts. The first part, introduction presents some concepts and the importance of quality control .The second part is about library purchasing theories. The third part pays attention to the current purchasing practice in academic library. The fourth part analyses influencing factors of literature development. The fifth part puts forward the purchasing quality control system of academic library. The final part is a conclusion.
