The electric locomotive DCU (Drive Control Unit) is the core equipment of traction system of train. It is the control equipment for main rectifier and traction engine, contains hardware and software. The hardware is what the software to rely on. It is mainly responsible for the conversion of input and output signals, and provides the environment for the software running and behaving. The software is the control thought. It regulates the voltage of traction engine through regulating the conduct angle of transistor to realize the speed regulate. The software and hardware of DCU is going to more and more universalization, modularization and intellectualized.Currently, the universalized level of the DCU hardware architecture has already been quite high. Therefore, people pay more attentions to software design. Software modularization and configuration have become the hot spot which people are high on. The graphical software configuration technology based on IEC61131-3 standard is the new technology which is turn up along with the development of the modularization, the standardization, the universalized in control field. So it is necessary to develop a suit of modularization software platform for electric locomotive DCU based on IEC61131-3 standard.The thesis first analyzed the drive principle and the regulating control characteristic of the Shaoshan series direct-current drive electric locomotive, further made out the functional requirement of DCU; Then it carried on the analysis and comparison to the present commonly used two kinds of modularization software platform (based on interpreter and compiler), and take into consideration of the special requests of DCU such as system resources and real-time etc. It finally chose the modularization software platform based on compiler to be the software development system of DCU, and emphatically narrated the architecture, the composition as well as the design thought of the modularization software platform. The division and the design of the functional module were the core of the modularization software design. The thesis gave out the scientific and the reasonable division for the DCU software system according to the newest modular design theory and the method. The thesis narrated function of each functional module in detailed, then gave out the composition and the design proposal of DCU modularization software platform based on IEC61131-3. The software platform is divided into two parts, the input editor and the platform linker. The input editor used to complete the user program inputting and the transformation, the platform linker used to complete transformation from the middle file to executive file of goal CPU. And designed the modularization software platform which supported the FBD function block graphical program inputting by VC++6.0. Finally, the thesis introduced the flow of designing application program of SS3 locomotive DCU through the designed modularization software platform, confirmed the feasibility of the software platform.
