As an important means of delivery, truck plays an increasingly important role in economic development. Now the common 3D CAD software is diversified, as the process of such large serialization production design is complex, designers have to make large complicated operations, even switching frequently among varieties of different softwares. Compared to foreign automobile manufactures, most of the domestic vehicle manufacturers stay in assembly stage. Professional design tools and methodologies are needed to improve design quality. Combining the state's 863 key projects "truck parts design based on 3D CAD system ", under the 3D digital system TiGEMS platform which is developed independently by Tsinghua University, the truck parts design system is developed and related technologies are researched.On the basis of analyzing truck industry characteristics and the design status quo of home and abroad truck enterprises, the background and significance of this thesis were discussed. Making existing design tools and processes of the automobile manufacturing plant in Chengdu as studying object, the enterprise demand as basis, the special parts design system based on TiGEMS 3D CAD platform was analyzed. By understanding and analyzing the present situation of enterprises, the limitions were pointed out, and combining the demand in various stages of truck design and existing automobile industry ASP platform, the framework of the system was analyzed. Based on the analysis and discuss, the system was designed, related technology was discussed, and a solution was put forward. Finally, a detailed design of function modules were given.
