There are hundreds of open-air mines in china, most of which are mined on the shovel-trucks discontinuous technology. Transport costs accounts for 60 ~ 70% of the entire cost production. Therefore, the high-efficiency of open pit production largely depends on the high-efficiency of harvesting equipment, so the control of mining production can be transformed into the control of harvesting equipment. Truck automatic dispatch is an effective way to improve equipment productivity and mine production, to reduce production costs and to achieve higher economic efficiency; it also is one of the key technologies for open-pit mine to reach the advanced level of discontinuous technology all over the world. Mobile vehicle terminal is an important part of open-pit truck automation dispatching system, which is installed in the trucks, shovels, the former machines, bulldozers or other discrete mobile devices. Since open-pit has large scale and wide coverage area, open-pit equipments are various, operating environment is harsh, and mobile discreteness is large, the functions and performance of the terminal has great impact on truck dispatching system. How to better grasp equipment working state, rationalize mobilization of equipment, combined the characteristics of positioning accuracy of GPS and based on mastering device location in real time is the primary consideration of mobile vehicle terminal design.This paper designed the function of corresponding terminal according to the work characteristics of different types of devices, on which basis this paper implemented the hardware design, software design, installation design and reliability design of vehicle terminal. At the same time, the key theory and technology were studied, such as the real-time communication reliability and equipment condition recognition convenience. Independent research and operate the means of communication --"the self-organization high-speed jump and spread spectrum mobile digital transmission", the method of vehicle shovel state recognition–"Truck loaded/unloading state precision automatic identification method", and many new theories, new technologies, new methods. According to the system's functional requirements and the actual needs of open-pit, and taking the common characteristics of domestic open-pit into account, domestic mobile vehicle terminal system with independent intellectual property rights was developed, which has a strong versatility and practicality. The system using digital integrated platform for mining and LCD touch-vehicle intelligent terminal has been put into trial operation in Fushun West Open Pit. Application proved that the performance of its hardware and software capabilities significantly higher than the previous generation COTOD products. System has fully functions, reliable performance, convenience and stable operation.
