The reactive power compensation is an important subject in the power system and automation field. Today the scale of power system in our country is becoming larger and larger , various equipments' working needs greater reactive power energy , the reactive power's distribution in power networks is becoming more and more complicated which causes great waste in electric energy. Therefore, according to the reactive power compensation' s research and market condition, it' s very significant for me to do some research on reactive power compensation. Because of the new progress of computer technique, control theory, artificial intelligence and information technique, traditional design method for control system in the field of reactive power compensation has not been suitable for the requirements of the development on the quality and stability of the power energy. The characteristics of the reactive power compensation system, such as disturbances, nonlinearity, modeling uncertainty etc, decide the wide application of the expert system fuzzy control and neural network who represent of the intelligent control theory' s using, This thesis takes low voltage power system as the research target and uses the theory of Fuzzy Control as the control strategy to design an intelligent, low voltage, three phase circuit reactive power compensation with an open integrated structure which based on the instantaneous reactive theory of three-phase circuit , how reactive power has capability of improving the quality of electric networks is studied firstly. In the hardware designing, we adopt the high speed and three pipelining structures ARM chip system to get high speed and real-time instruction execution performances. Software design abidced by the principle of modularization, it greatly improves general availability and deduces the difficulty in maintenance. This device is capable of compensating the power networks based on the real-time mentor data, and it can protect the power networks from over- voltage or current, ultra low voltage. It can achieve the better compensation effect if used together with harmonic restraint device. The further study on the reactive power compensation is also discussed in the end of the thesis.
