Research About Computer-mediated Communication System's Designing: The Coupling Of Technology And Society

This thesis probes into the computer-mediated communication system from the angle of designing. In this information era, using computer-mediated communication system to communicate with each other has become a great tread, and such system is gradually turning into the main communication medium of organization. The computer-mediated communication system can be divided into two aspects, namely, design and application. This thesis started out on design because it was headstream and decided the function of system, as well as the experience of users. It could be users-friendly, enhancing communication and working efficiency with good designing. Otherwise, it's difficult to be used. So how to get a successful design?This thesis utilized theories of communication studies, sociology, system theory and cybernetics, combing material practices and then found out the essence of design depended on the relation between technology and society, no matter in designing patterns, designing principles or methods. If the technology and society could be coupled closely and developed harmoniously, we shall find out the most proper and efficient way to get a successful design. Only like this could keep the balance of technical factors and social ones, make new communication technologies better blend into organization, so as to boost its application effects.Based on above understanding, this thesis set up a design model with diverse methods and flows synthesized, made all designing processes into clear courses and analyzed their advantage, weakness, as well as main points. Finally, with two practical cases, it validated the feasibility of such model, pointing out that the more coupled between technology and society in design, the more brilliant system could be designed, so as to increase communication efficiency of organizations.
