| Among five important news weekly magazines(which are CHINA NEWS WEEK,LIFEWEEK,NFC, NEW WEEKLY, XINMIN WEEKILY) in Chinese leading news weeklymarket, two(NFC and NEW WEEKLY) are from Guangdong, counting nearly half of them.SOUTHERN PEOPLE WEEKLY, another magazine also from Guangdong, is growing uprapidly, becoming significant renascence force in domestic news weekly market. Guangdong'snews weekly has been a magnitude part of the whole country's.Introducing Theory on Journalism and Communication, Theory on Editing, IndustryEconomics, Marketing and other relative theories, this paper is doing a on-the-spot reviewcombining literature research, case studying, quantitative analysis as well as qualitative analysis.Starting with the content product, market managing and entironment of Guangdong's newsweeklies, it is trying to depict a panorama status quo. According to my research, Guangdong'snews weeklies are keeping improving, having courage to create and seek common points whilereserving differences on their content products producing. While on marking managing, they areamong the first in China to import the concept of brand managing, gradually breaking away withtraditional media payoff mode. However, on account of limit of the system, capital movement isstill at a hovering stage. On entironment, Guangdong has got a favorable conditions for newsweeklies, including a loose political circumstance, highly marketable economy, open culturalsurroundings and developed media settings, although they have to face with stronger competingopponents in such an opener market. At last, this paper gives suggestions to Guangdong's newsweeklies, which are to have a definite orientation, make good use of part organ companyresource and have a collectivize, large-scale management. |
