IP Multicast Video Conference System Based On COM

Recent years, with the rapid development of computer network technology,multimedia technology and communications technology, the exploration andapplication of the desktop video conferencing system based on IP, has graduallybecome one of the hotspots of computer applications. Currently, three trends haveappeared in video conferencing development: First, the transition from hardwarevideo conference to software video conference; Second, the coming of WEB2.0 Time;Third, the rising of Data conference. Meanwhile, as the IP multicast technology hasbecome ever-mature, it will perfectly meet the need of video conferencing system toaccomplish a lightweight-level communications mode based on conversation. On thiscondition, we have successfully accomplished a multicast conferencing system basedon IE browser, which was implemented with Microsoft TAPI3.0 (TelephonyApplication Program Interface) and Netmeeting COM components, combined withWindows2000 Active Directory. The system based on IP multicast to implementmultipoint communication requires less bandwidth. With it, People can talk by voiceand video on the web browser without installing any other software in client serverand use meanwhile the functions such as whitebroad,file transferring,applicationsharin,chating etc. The system implemented by the mode of both integration andbuilding, doesn't only assure the practicability, reliability, advantange, integrality andaccordance of the system but also lower the cost of building.On the basis of the realization of the IP multicast module and conference managemodule, after doing further investigation and research on TAPI3.0 and NetmeetingCOM. this essay designed and implemented the data conference module, and made itworking together with video conference, which improved the IP multicast videoconference system. Moreover, in order to realize the practical use of the conferencingsystem in WAN, a series of meaningful attempt has been done, this essay has broughtout a method and presented the setting of system server in detail.including VPNserver, the setting of DC server, as well as some problem-diagnostic tools. In the end,the testing circumstances have been introduced and some summary and prospects aremade on the research field.
